Editor-in-Chief: Professor Tu

As Editor-in-Chief, Professor Tu oversees the journal’s overall
academic quality, manages the rigorous peer review process,
and ensures all submissions meet international academic
standards. He leads the editorial board in making publication
decisions and upholding the journal’s ethical guidelines.

Professor Tu is a leading interdisciplinary scholar with expertise spanning labor and employment law, HR compliance, labor relations, and social security law, with deep research in labor market governance, gig economy regulation, and employment equity. His work also extends to commercial and financial law, international law, food safety governance, public emergency management, and standard science, integrating legal, economic, management, sociological, and psychological perspectives to address complex real-world challenges in digital transformation and labor market evolution. He has made pioneering contributions to quantifying mental distress compensation and advancing interdisciplinary research in labor and human resources.

Professor Tu has published extensively in top-tier Chinese and international journals, including Social Sciences in China, China Legal Science, and leading HRM and law publications, with over 100 peer-reviewed papers and multiple monographs. He has led numerous national and provincial research projects, including key projects funded by the National Social Science Foundation of China, focusing on labor law reform, AI and employment regulation, and corporate compliance. As a senior researcher at the Institute of Employment Research, Renmin University of China, and other national think tanks, his research has informed policy-making in labor and employment, food safety, and financial regulation in China. He also serves as a standing director of multiple national academic societies, including the China Law Society and China Labor Society, and has been recognized for his contributions to legal and HRM research with academic awards and honors.

As Editor-in-Chief, Professor Tu has led the Journal of Chinese Human Resources Management (JCHRM) to achieve significant international growth, elevating it to the ESCI (Web of Science) index and Q3 ranking in the HRM field. He has built a global editorial board spanning five continents, implemented rigorous double-blind peer review processes, and expanded the journal’s international reach, with over 90% of submissions now coming from global authors. His vision for the journal is to position it as a leading international platform for cutting-edge HRM research, with a focus on Chinese and global HRM practices, digital-era HR innovation, industrial relations, ESG and labor, and labor economics. He is committed to fostering high-quality, impactful research that bridges academic theory and real-world practice, and to driving the journal’s transition to full SSCI indexing, while upholding the highest standards of academic ethics and publishing integrity.

Professor Tu is an active participant in the global academic community, with extensive international collaboration and engagement. He completed postdoctoral research at the University of Denver, USA, and has established long-term partnerships with leading universities and research institutions worldwide. He regularly presents at international academic conferences on labor law, HRM, and legal studies, and serves as a reviewer for multiple top international journals. As Editor-in-Chief, he actively promotes international academic exchange through the journal, organizing special issues on global HRM trends and hosting international academic workshops. He also serves as an editorial board member and academic advisor for multiple domestic and international journals, and has been invited as a visiting scholar and keynote speaker at universities across North America, Europe, and Asia, strengthening academic ties between China and the global research community.
